Eco-Friendly Products To Celebrate Earth Day

Did you know, April 22 is designated as Earth Day? It is a global initiative to raise awareness to protect Earth's natural resources for future generations to come. Before we get into the perfect promotional items to get in preparation of this global celebration for your company, we took a look at some of the coolest facts about our planet.


In NASA’s 10 Interesting things about Earth, we found some awesome facts about Earth that we had to share.


 

  • -Earth is not flat, but it's not perfectly round either.
  • -The days are getting longer. Days used to last around 21.9 hours, not 24 hours! Say, what?!
  • -There weren't always several continents. Have you heard of the tectonic plates?
  • -During Earth's icy times, scientists believe Earth nearly or completely froze several times. Brrr… and we thought this winter has been cold!
  • -The driest place in the world — the Atacama Desert in northern Chile -  is next to the biggest body of water — the Pacific Ocean. Pretty ironic!
  • -Earth's gravity isn't uniform - we can thank mountains and rivers for this!
  • -In the past, sea levels were very different.
  • -Our sun has a voracious appetite…they call it the Red Giant!
  • -The moon is not Earth's only companion. Did you know there are two other buddies out there?
  • -It's not just an old wives' tale: under the right conditions, the calm before the storm really does exist.  We don't want to be in the calm or the storm.

Now that we have learned a little science and can appreciate the complexity of our great planet, let’s take a look at the celebration aspect of Earth Day.
